Website Changes

Some may notice that the "Siblings" page of the website has been deleted. Definitely not because they lack importance but because the sheer mass of them is too hard to keep up with. The page has been neglected for quite some time! By my totally non-statistical assessment...we have around 3 times more siblings than patients and that is a lot!

Siblings will of course still receive care packages and have their birthdays posted on the "Important Dates" page.

The link to the previously titled "How To Help" page is now "Get Involved" just to change things up. Soon I will be adding things to that page such as upcoming events.

Please follow this link to read about our second complimentary photo session. Dani (the photographer) happens to be a friend of mine and this sweet little girl happens to live in the next town over and I am in nursing school with her sister. Brave doesn't begin to describe this family.

Message for our Current Families

To ensure your child(ren) maintain active in the organization, please complete this form as soon as possible. It can then be scanned and emailed to jennifer@kidscancercrusade.org or snail mailed to PO Box 1045, Fremont, OH 43420.

If for some reason you cannot access the form, just send me an email with your mailing address and I will snail mail one to you.

The form serves a few purposes:
1) It lets us know of any address changes. Resending care packages is an expense that can be avoided.
2) It lets us know if you still even want to receive packages. We've had quite a few children go off treatment this year and some families have decided to opt out of packages because of that or other reasons.
3) It reaffirms your release for us to use your child's information, website, photo, etc for our network. Thus far email has been sufficient, but we want to protect ourselves and our families if an issue would ever pop up so we now require a parent/guardian signature.

Even if no information has changed or you no longer wish to receive packages, we would like the form completed to take care of the information release issue. We really do not want to lose anyone from our network - it is a huge means of support for so many!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Please, Sign our Petition

Edit 12/12: We met our goal at 10:33am. If we could do that in 36 hours, imagine what we can do with 88 more days! Thank you everyone!

Edit 12/11: When you're done, please take another moment to visit the website of Zachary F. He is a 14 year old that has been fighting Neuroblastoma since 2000 and has recently been placed on hospice care. He and his family could use your love and support!

Right now, more than ever, we are in need of our supporters to step up for our organization and our families. It doesn't have to cost you a penny, just a few moments of your time.

For two years the purchase of the domain www.kidscancercrusade.org was kindly donated to Kids Cancer Crusade, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, by the owner of NgiNeThemba Designs & Domains. The company was recently sold and the new owner felt that since the company purchased the domain for the organization, Kids Cancer Crusade should be required to purchase it from him for $2000 (matching another offer he had received for the domain) in order to continue its use.

However, the new owner agreed to the terms that if Kids Cancer Crusade could supply a petition obtaining 1500 signatures declaring that, although not illegal, what he has demanded of the organization was unfair and hurts the organization and the services they provide, a judge can rule that he must repay the $2000. He agreed to the terms because he doesn't feel Kids Cancer Crusade has the support. Please help us to not only show him he is wrong but to get the money back so it can go to where it should - to our children and their families.

Our Board met a couple weeks ago to discuss exciting new ways for this organization to grow and help our families in different ways, but this situation is going to hit us hard. Most of you know that we are new and small and always want to dedicate as much funds as possible to directly help our kids and their families, but the network that is our website is a critical role of Kids Cancer Crusade as well.

Please click the title of this journal entry or click here to visit our online petition site and sign the petition. When you are finished, please send this information to everyone in your email contacts, post it on your blog, website, myspace, facebook...we need to get the word out. We have 90 days.

If you ARE in a position to donate, consider donating in honor/memory of one of our children, or another child. Family and friends may even be honored to have a donation made in their name rather than receiving a gift they do not really need this Christmas.

You can snail mail a check donation to:
